Lancaster beat York 8-6 in both the Men’s and Women’s Ultimate Frisbee game fixtures.
Sunday morning at Roses began with the Men’s and Women’s Ultimate Frisbee fixtures. Both matches were very close, however Lancaster were the first team to reach 8 goals in both fixtures.
In the Men’s fixture, York started the game strongly, scoring the first point of the game. The rest of the game was very evenly matched, with both York and Lancaster often equalising and the score line remaining very even for a lot of the game. However, Lancaster were victorious and won the match 8-6.
Sportsmanship was a significant part of the game, as it often is in Ultimate Frisbee. The game didn’t have a neutral referee, which meant that the game relies on players officiating the game themselves.
The Women’s Ultimate Frisbee match quickly followed and this was another evenly matched contest. Lancaster opened the scoring in this fixture and went 2-0 up, however York were quick to start their comeback. The game was neck and neck for a lot of the match, with both teams scoring some great goals and making impressive interceptions.
