An email from the Vice Chancellor to students has confirmed all academic departments will be offering in-person teaching from the start of next term.

Students have been told they should plan to return to campus for the first day of their term.

Departments will continue to offer online provision to international students “where we can” for the first six weeks of Autumn term.

International students will not be able to study online after 7 November, even if they are unable to travel to York, with the email saying: “We are not offering options to study online for the entire Autumn Term for your undergraduate course”.

This marks the first widespread return to in-person teaching since March 2020 when all teaching was moved online.

As in-person teaching returns, COVID-19 safety measures will remain in place, and the Vice Chancellor said: “We have safety measures on campus, testing will remain important, and we strongly recommend you consider the welfare of others by continuing to wear a mask in busy indoor spaces”.
