Langwith
The Candidate
Ashfahani boasts a wealth of experience serving as Langwith Chair, co-founding and presiding over the American Football team and serving as YorkSport Development Officer. His policies include building a 3G pitch, coaching and referee training on campus and an extension of the ActiveSport policies. He says of his rival, “Rob’s experience is unmatched, but I am wary that he doesn’t have experience on the YorkSport Committee.”
Vision’s Analysis
Ashfahani appears to have gathered support from many sports clubs and is personable and popular. However, whether this will ensure him votes waits to be seen.

Rob Newton
James
The Candidate
Newton’s strength comes from his enthusiastic membership of a variety of sports clubs, most importantly as Male Hockey President. If elected he promises to promote disability sport, introduce the Clubmark Award, tap into international student sport and revamp the YorkSport website. The 3rd year History student criticises Ashfahani saying although he is a “quality guy” he is, “not going to get a 3G pitch during the course of the year”.
Vision’s Analysis
Plucky Newton’s strongest asset is his character – he is friendly, able to communicate and enthusiastic. However, without the name recognition of his rival his ability to garner votes is unsure.
