The full candidate list for York Sport Committee elections has gone online today. The nominees for seven different YSC positions have been revealed, with successful candidates going on to join York Sport President Cass Brown’s team for the 2014-15 academic year.
Voting opens on Wednesday 14th May, at 9:00 am. Positions up for grabs include Treasurer, Tournament Secretary and Fundraising Officers, as well as the new role of Get Into Sport Officer, which was created following this year’s York Sport Annual General Meeting.
Incumbent College Sport Officer Dave Washington is the only current committee member standing for re-election, although he and Melissa Turner will run uncontested for the two positions available.
York Sport President Cass Brown told Vision: “I’m extremely pleased that all but two positions are contested. I’m sure this will make for a great election. I just hope to see the candidates campaigning creatively and actually going out and speaking to the clubs they could soon be representing. I wish all candidates the best of luck and can’t wait for the results on Monday!”
