This week it’s all about classy underwear and sharp suits, with a bit of festival scruffiness thrown in for good measure. Let’s do things differently and begin with the finishing touches to any elegant look:

Surpique Satin Briefs (£70, La Perla) and Beaded Courts (£99 @ Dune)

These vintage briefs are possibly the classiest pants I’ve ever seen. Nude underwear is always a must when wearing white summer dresses, even though skin-coloured briefs can make you feel a bit like an old lady. But who could possibly feel frumpy in these gorgeous La Perlas?

Even though these shoes would match with very little, I am so in love with tribal prints right now. It’s always difficult to find shoes that sparkle without being a little tacky but these heels get it just right, and they’re a perfect excuse to recycle the slinky LBD you thought you’d only wear once..

Denim Dungarees (£30 at Rockit)

If, unlike me, you’re headed to a festival this summer (sniff), these are perfect. They’re vintage so they’re already a bit worn and it won’t matter if they get a bit scuffed up. They can look really summery if you wear them with flip flops and sunglasses, but with thick woollen tights and a cardigan they’re also perfect for whatever blizzards and hurricanes we’re inevitably going to have this ‘summer’.

Red Dress (£29.99, Mango) and Topman Slimline Suits in Black (£100) or Charcoal (£110)

Forget the LBD, this LRD is my new wardrobe essential! As well as being elegant and super flattering, it’s so versatile- it can be worn with a black cardigan, black tights and Mary Janes for summer internships or with bare legs and heels for nights out.

Does any guy not look good in a suit? This one is very Don Draper-esque and it’s an absolute classic. Even though it’s a bit late for the summer ball, I have always firmly believed that guys do not need an excuse to suit up. Plus – buy one while you can and recieve a free tie or dicky-bow! Top idea.
