“Where are the Churchills of College Football?”

The limitations of humankind are set by the flawed determinants of sexual attractiveness. Some people are born inexplicably intelligent. Darwin would surely see these people as the genotype human evolution should turn towards. However, due to social ineptitude, the seemingly inevitable awkward nature of these individuals, their reproductive opportunities are reduced. This is sad. These poor, brilliant souls are outcast for their talents. I say we should embrace these lepors, hold them in our busom and try to in fact catch their ‘disease’. This could be done by a ‘hug an intellectual’ scheme, by a teaching initiative informing the youth of today that clever is sexy. Or by allowing the footballing genius of University 1st footballers to proudly represent their college. Who are we to punish them for being great.

Surely our ambition would have us attempting, not to dim their footballing light, but to play within it, against it, alongside it. Is our culture that cowardly? Where are the Churchills of this era of College Football? How would the world look if on the beaches of Normandy our ancestors decided not to embark on a difficult mission? Not to combat a force of superior firepower and in superior vantage points? If others had stifled the men amongst us who could create something glorious, where would be the capella sistina? Could we speak to our family the other side of the world, soar high above the clouds and across the globe?

We are rooting College Football in a melee of mediocrity. I can be silent no longer. There are laws for freedom of speech, freedom of press, for civil rights. Why then do we hurt our children, our brothers, our brethren? Why do we cast a shadow over their brilliant light, instead of basking in it’s warmth, shining ourselves as we do so? I do not know. I cannot understand.
