The heavenly Victoria’s Secret Angels – spokes models for the famous lingerie brand – descended upon New York City on Wednesday for the 17th annual Victoria’s Secret catwalk show.
While there was a snow storm outside, forty of world’s most successful supermodels made their way down the runway wearing feathers, jewels and not much else. Brazilian model, Alessandra Ambrosio was chosen to wear this year’s Fantasy Bra, which was created by London Jewellers and is worth $2.5 million. The Floral Fantasy bra is handset with amethysts, rubies and sapphires as well as white, pink and yellow diamonds, all set in 18 carat rose and yellow gold. It features 5,200 precious stones and has a 20 carat white diamond that sits in the middle.
Alessandra Ambrosio declared: “This is [the] most desirable, most beautiful, most known show in the world. Every year it gets bigger and better!” And she is right; this year Victoria Secret outdid themselves with 37 models revealing 65 lingerie looks, parading down the runway to live music performed by Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars.
The collections were divided into six groups – Circus, Dangerous Liaisons, Calendar Girls, Pink Is Us, Silver Screen Angels and Angels in Bloom. The Angel Adriana Lima showed off her post baby body, and opened the show with a satin ring master robe, less than two months after giving birth to her second child.
The runway was blessed with two ultra-cool British girls, Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn, joining Victoria Secret’s veterans Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge and Miranda Kerr who flaunted their toned bodies in lingerie.
