Tracing Problems To The Sauce

Students in catered accommodation have complained to Vision about bizarre rules limiting people to one sachet of sauce per tray as part of their meal deal.

Students at the catered colleges are entitled to up to four courses of food a day, but only provided with two sachets.
Laura Borisovaite, YUSU Welfare Officer, commented on the matter, saying: “these are issues that YUSU, alongside the colleges, raised last year when this was first proposed. The issues have now come up and I would encourage students to provide feedback on catered accommodation in order for substantial improvements to be made to the service.”

A Senior Press Officer at the University suggested that alongside a catering card, students should come to meals armed with a handful of 10p coins, “Yes, you do get one free sachet of sauce, but you can buy another one if you like!”

He did however stress that on the whole, catering had been a success, “Feedback for catered accommodation has been really positive.”
