One of the few places in town that I think has a coherent identity and isn’t quite the Frankenstein’s monster that its competitors are in design.
The Stones Roses bar offers £3 triples and a broadly indie atmosphere that ripples with Arctic Monkeys and Blur tunes.
I would speculate that the owners have invested heavily in an insurance package, because placing one of those fun-fair punching machines about six yards from the bar cannot be good for keeping bloodstains off the furniture.
Located on near the river, Stone Roses can get a bit busy, but is one of the better places for a quick tipple.
