Founded in 1984, TED events started as a conference to bring people together from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. With its mission of ‘Ideas Worth Spreading’, its popularity took off in earnest in 2006 when the talks were offered for free viewing online through TED.com and YouTube and as downloadable podcasts through iTunes,  furthering its ability to deliver these values to a worldwide community.

Pocklington School will be hosting the first TEDxPocklington conference on 16th December 2013. As a branch of TED events, TEDx events are designed to stimulate learning and deep discussion on a local level.

Respected speakers for TEDxPocklington are from all walks of life, including Neil McIntosh CBE (CEO of Education Trust), Mark Ronan (Headmaster at Pocklington School), and Steve McNamara (England Rugby League Coach), who will share ideas, knowledge and new thinking from the worlds of business, education and technology.

Pre-recorded talks from the celebrated TEDTalks video series will also be shown at the event.

Tickets are limited and priced at £50.00 +VAT, inclusive of lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Please see TEDxPocklington on TED.com and follow @TEDxPocklington for more details.
