What: Nice, casual food in the Centre of York
Where: 8 New Street
Price: Mid-range. About £7 for a burger and chips.
You’ll mainly go there for cocktails as it is right by Willow and they do student deals, but during the day they do great grub that is mid-range price.
They have outdoor seating for rare sunny days, good music indoors, free wifi, and their menu is great.
A particular highlight are their ‘build a bagel’s, so they have a lot of really delicious fillings like houmous and halloumi and salami and olives and you choose three fillings and they put them on a bagel. Then you eat it.
They also do like six kinds of burger and paninis and nachos and stuff. This is good for lunch out with your mum to break up a day out in York, or as a place to bond with your new friends.
There really is something nice about visiting somewhere that you’re usually pissed in, during the day. It’s an eye-opener for sure.
