In a move surprising exactly no-one, Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen has announced his one hit wonder app will be making a triumphant return to app stores; with a twist.

Speaking to CNBC, he said the game will have multiplayer, proclaiming that ‘it’s boring to play alone’.

When quizzed on why Flappy Bird’s addictiveness was a bad thing, he said he wanted players to ‘save their time for something else more productive’.

Despite this, the game will be returning to app stores in August, alongside the hundreds of Flappy Bird clones that filled the vacuum the original left when it made its temporary departure last February.
