ELECTION DEBATE: Jack Coy: I’m not a joke candidate

JackCoyPICYUSU President Candidate Jack Coy rubbished claims he was a “joke candidate” during last night’s YUSU Election debate.

The third-year student, who was donning a lobster costume, said he found the label “disappointing”.

At the event, he said the University was currently a “drab wasteland with a puddle in the middle”.

He added: “We need a great white shark in the lake”.

The Vanbrugh College undergraduate said he wanted jet skis and a YUSU-sponsored tropical island bar.

He was speaking at the Roger Kirk Centre on the opening night of campaigning in the latest student union elections.

Voters will go to the polls during Week 8 to decide their YUSU team for 2014.

The results will be announced on Friday 28 February.
