YUSU has closed down food services at the Glasshouse after pests were spotted around nearby Langwith College accommodation blocks and the outlet’s nucleus building.
A statement from the students’ union commercials team said that it was the “most sensible and proactive decision” to take.
“We are working closely with the university estates team and an external service provider to deal with this promptly and effectively,” it added.
A statement on YUSUBars’ Facebook page said the outlet will still offer “drinks” but could not offer food until “further notice”.
It added: “We’re working on a solution and will hopefully be up and running back at full speed ASAP.
“We’ll keep you posted and sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
