Agony Aunt Answers…

plainaa

Dear Agony Aunt,

I am on a quest with thirteen other guys and I just don’t feel like I fit in. It’s been a good few months now, and we’ve been through a lot together. I mean, only yesterday we all got trapped in a goblin-infested mountain but right now I just feel invisible. I have a close friend who is a wizard. He sometimes tags along with our adventures but he’s really flaky, isn’t usually around for a heart to heart. Every now and then, he just disappears and doesn’t tell us where he’s going. I guess I just want to be accepted, and to be seen as part of the group so that I can build myself a good peer group and have a few laughs.

Yours hopefully,

Lonely on the Misty Mountains

Dear Lonely,

I understand the way you’re feeling, we all feel a little ostracised at some stage in our lives. Battling goblins can be stressful so it’s perfectly normal for you to feel stressed out and alone. I’ve actually read to the end of your story and, I’m afraid to say, that there’s no hope of your wizard friend becoming a consistent companion (also don’t get your hopes up for finding out where he’s disappearing off to, you won’t have that explained to you until the film comes out). If you want to fit in with your travelling companions, then try a few practical jokes, maybe buy them a round next time you’re near a pub, or save their lives from giant insects?

And as far as feeling invisible goes, there is a simple answer to that one: Dude, take off the magic ring. (Just don’t lose it, I have a strong suspicion that it’ll become pretty damned important.)

Enjoy the rest of your quest, next few chapters are pretty juicy, you’ll love it.

Yours

Agony Aunt
