Langwith College have announced their new JCRC at their Christmas Ball after-party, held in Yates’, after widely uncontested elections.
Former LGBT Officer Jack Baker takes over from Cem Turhan as the new Langwith chair after running unopposed for the position whilst Craig Burnell and Jason Brandwood are the new vice-chairs.
Marinus Maris became the new Secretary in another unopposed election whilst Kieran Douglas beat off tough competition from Timmy Seah to be elected Treasurer, completing an all male executive committee for 2011-12.
Langwith look set for some busy by-elections after a disappointing number of positions were left open, including such important roles as Sponsorship and LGBT Officers.
“I feel absolutely ecstatic to be a part of something that means so much to me,” said Jack Baker on being announced as chair, “I have so many plans to improve on what a tremendous job the previous committee did, hoping to match and surpass Cem’s commitment to the college on our milestone move to Hes East.”
