York’s open 1st team pooled their strengths and secured an impressive 14-5 victory.

From the opening sprint, the match drew in a massive Saturday crowd with supporters from both side bringing plenty of energy to the pool, despite the heat in there throughout the match!

For spectators unfamiliar with the sport, the fast-paced nature of the match made the rules easy to deduce and exciting to follow along with.

Defence was aggressive on both sides and at times the crowd seemed visibly shocked by how intense the match was. Play moved at an incredibly fast pace with both York and Lancaster scoring in the first quarter, keeping the spectators hooked throughout. Each team had just 30 seconds to carry out their attack, so the pressure of time weighed heavy on the players – despite this, the teams didn’t seem flustered and every single play was carefully considered.

York made some difficult shots from the other side of the pool and their goals were visually impressive, but Lancaster had their fair share of bold plays too. Both goalkeepers made a great effort, and Lancaster’s attack strategy was commendable in the face of such a determined team.

The action was so intense it was difficult to follow who was in the lead, but York triumphed with an admirable 14-5 victory over Lancaster. York’s supporters in the crowd were ecstatic about the win, capping off the highly anticipated event with a great victory for the white rose.
