As the end of the common assessment period draws tantalising closer in sight, you can now grab a pint of your favourite beverage for less.
The price of a Guinness has been slashed by over a fifth, and a Thatchers’ Juicy Apple Cider will now only run you up £2.73 (previously £4.30). Other popular beverages sold at the York SU establishment including Stella, Old Mout Cider, Carling and Lemonade have also been price-reduced, so they now match Whetherspoons’ pricing*.
And it’s not just the drinks that are getting cheaper. The Glasshouse are also giving away a free portion of fries with every Bao Bun or Katsu Curry ordered between 5pm – 6:30pm.
York SU Community and Wellbeing Officer Sam Dickinson commended this decision. He said: “this is just one of the many ways York SU is providing Cost of Living relief to students alongside the student pantry and Fruit and Root.”
He continued: “The cost of living is biting hard, but that doesn’t mean students should have to cut back on drinks and nights out. This big price cut means students can drink for as cheap as the ol’ Wetherspoons*, right here on campus. What a time to be alive!
