Yesterday marked the biggest day of industrial action for more than a decade.

It was a sombre day across campus yesterday as the echos of the rally could be heard.

17 days of union action will follow across February and March in addition to the ongoing action short of a strike.

The action short of a strike announced in November 2022 continues and is set to finish no later than Thursday 20 April 2023.

This includes working contracted hours and duties and not volunteering to do more; not rescheduling classes and lectures cancelled due to strike action; not covering for absent colleagues.

The industrial action is in response to disputes concerning pay and conditions, and proposed changes to the USS pension.

There is no marking and assessment boycott planned for this term.
