Roses 2020 Cancelled by Lancaster Due to Coronavirus

The tournament was due to take place in May but has been cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis

Lancaster University Students Union and Lancaster University have cancelled the annual sporting competition, Roses 2020.

This announcement has come after the University of York’s pivot to online teaching and examinations alongside cancellation of first year exams. Most other UK universities have followed suit.

A member of the York’s American Football team, the Centurions, told Vision: “it’s very much disappointing especially considering our phenomenal season.

“Roses has always been something we’ve put a lot of hours into to win and it’s devastating that it’s been cancelled.”

Maddi Cannell and Ollie Martin have been contacted for a comment.
