A ceremony at Micklegate Bar will welcome Their Majesties to the city.

This will be followed by a visit to York Minster. They will attend a short service and meet people from the Cathedral and the City of York.

His Majesty will unveil the statue of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The statue will be blessed by The Archbishop of York.

This is part of a visit by Their Majesties to Yorkshire, beginning on the 8th of November.

This ceremony, which sees The Monarch enter the city, was last carried out in 2012. Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh entered the city to attend the Maundy Sunday Service at York Minster.

Their Majesties will visit Bradford, Leeds, York, and Doncaster. During their final stop, they will confer Doncaster’s city status at Mansion House.
