Wanking? There’s an app for that

Wanking. Flickin’ your bean. Shlicking, developing a personal relationship with your shower, getting some ‘me’ time… No matter what you want to call it, the likelihood is you know what we’re talking about. Masturbating!  It’s one of the most basic pleasures a girl can give herself, it’s cheaper than a film and it doesn’t require you to do anything strenuous (depending on how you’re doing it!).

If you’re a first year, nearly 30% of your female peers will masturbate for the first time this year, and 60% of you will do it at some point this year. For you older kids, the likelihood is 64.3% of third and fourth years are going to retreat to their room for at least ten minutes of unbridled clitoral appreciation time. So why are so few women talking about it? It’s obvious that guys and their dicks are pretty in touch, it’s in films (American Pie, Knocked Up), on TV (Hollyoaks) and even in songs (Jerk It Out, anyone?) to name just a few. But when was the last time you saw Jennifer Anniston flippantly admit she was off to get to grips with her raging Rampant Rabbit? I’m guessing The Saturdays aren’t going to be coming out with a song called “Me and my Bullet” any time soon (although Yelle’s Mon Meilleur Amie is an excellent ode to our battery powered fanny-friends for any French Lit bods).

Well, now there’s an app that’s setting out to change all that.  Riding high on the coattails of last summer’s erotic literature boom that saw 50 Shades of Grey flying off the shelves and into handbags (quality of said literature aside), women have finally publicly started to get to grips with something guys have had their hands on for decades – their genitals! A collaboration between graphic designer Tina Gong and Gamecube, HappyPlayTime is an app that teaches girls all about their “Down There”. With a cute little pink vagina as your guide, this guide shows you all the (literal) ins and outs of your special place. From your clitoris to your g-spot, this guided tour is designed to undo the feelings of shame, guilt and silliness that are most highly reported in women aged between 17 and 24. Here at Vision we can’t wait to get our mitts on the Happy Play Time App, getting ready to change the face of your clitoris forever!
