Cartoonist and writer of Gunshow, KC Green, describes his comic strip as “a comic about a lot of different things”. Indeed, in its five years of existence so far, Gunshow has included an epic carrot-filled feud between a couple of rabbits, a satire on elitism in anime clubs, and the writer himself. He talks to Vision about his highlights of 2012, most embarrassing memory and his ultimate defence in a zombie outbreak.
1. What is the inspiration behind Gunshow?
Anything. Everything.
2. How would you describe your drawing style?
Wacky, maybe. It’s not up to me really to describe it and I never think about it enough to do so.
3. What has been your favourite storyline in your comic so far?
This current one, Graveyard Quest, is becoming my favourite. But like with anything, I just want to be over it sooner rather than later.
4. If you weren’t doing Gunshow, what would you be doing?
I’ve really been interested in learning the editing process of video and have dabbled here and there. If not comics, then I would jump full force into video editing.
5. Will there ever be an animated version of Gunshow?
I don’t know. I would be lying to myself if I said that wouldn’t be awesome, but animation is a different beast I am not ready to deal with yet.
6. What has been your biggest achievement so far?
Being friends with some of the people I looked up to as a teen starting out drawing comics.
7. What was the highlight of 2012 for you?
Getting my medication right, getting out of a shitty funk I was in, and quitting my job to work on comics for the second time in my life.

11. What is your most embarrassing memory?
Getting caught taking someone’s trapper keeper because it was left in the school hallways for, like, days and I thought it was up for grabs

Even a Monkey Can Draw Manga
14. If you could meet three people, dead or alive, who would they be?
My late uncle and I can’t even think of two other joke answers. I would just want to meet my late uncle, he died before I was born.
15. What is the longest time you have danced for?
However long Birdhouse In Your Soul is, though TMBG songs are hard to dance to.
16. What is your party trick?
Sitting quietly and leaving early.
17. If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why?
Mr. Fantastic or at least have stretchy powers because stretchy powers always seemed the coolest to me

19. What’s your favourite astronomical entity?
The moon!
20. How would you defend yourself in a zombie outbreak?
Hole up in my house until I die or get eaten.
