Terry to Leave After THREE DAYS, After Intending to “Serve Faithfully” for One MONTH

Brian Terry’s role as activities officer will be “reassigned” from today, a YUSU thread has announced this afternoon.

Terry originally stated he would carry out his notice period of one month “faithfully”, but will leave after just three working days.

Further announcements are expected to come after a meeting of the Student Union’s trustee’s on Wednesday, although the reassigning of his roles will make little difference for many student groups, such as student media, whose contact with YUSU had already been reassigned from Brian Terry before his resignation.

Terry has refused to comment to Vision on the job he is leaving for, the notice he gave the Student Union of his decision, whether there were other factors contributing to his departure, and how it felt to be the only Sabbatical officer to resign in recent memory.

Terry won his 2020 Election, which had a 23.8% voter turnout of 4,896 individual students.

The thread describes his departure as an “unexpected announcement”, but they “wish Brian every success in his new role”.
