A LOCAL 36-year-old man from York has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and raping a local woman.
The alleged incidents took place in the early hours of Tuesday 29 October 2013. There was an arrest later that day.
Mark Thompson appeared before York Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 31 October 2013. He was charged with one count of kidnap, three counts of rape and one count of attempted rape. He was later remanded in custody.
A preliminary court hearing will be held at York Crown Court on 15 November 2013.
