COVID-19 in York at a Glance

Data: coronavirus.york.ac.uk (methodology) / coronavirus.data.gov.uk (NHSX/PHE)

Note: “Active Cases” is the number of individuals within the University community (including both students and staff) isolating after a positive COVID-19 test. University data is not updated on weekends, cases reported over the weekend are included in Monday’s total.

Note: on October 26, the University changed its methodology “to align with a new reporting requirement to the Office for Students”. Previously, data would be reported in the afternoon, and consist of the cases reported that day; from October 26 onward, data is reported in the morning, covering cases reported the previous day (and the weekend on Mondays).

Note: on November 16, Public Health England changed how positive tests are attributed to local authorities. This caused an abnormal spike in York’s data for that day, which we have since corrected for above.
