LGBTQ host Marriage Equality bar crawl

gay flag tvThe LGBTQ social committee has arranged a bar crawl to celebrate the Marriage Equality act.

The bar crawl, open to all whether or not they identify as LGBTQ, will be held on the 13th March, the day same-sex marriage becomes legal in the UK.

Liam O’Brien, the LGBTQ Social Press and Publicity Officer, commented; “The new legislation is a staple of tolerance, LGBTQ rights and equality. The York LGBTQ community want to celebrate this historic change to the law with the rest of the university. We want everyone to come and show their support for marriage equality and LGBTQ rights at this huge event! It’s sure to be an incredible night, crawling through The Lounge, Lowther, Parish, Popworld, Nags Head and ending the night at Tokyo. Fancy dress is highly encouraged: wedding dresses, suits, mother of the bride outfits, or priests – whatever you fancy!”

It will start in the Lounge at James College at 7.30pm, and end in Tokyo. Drinks deals have been arranged by the committee and wedding-themed fancy dress is recommended.
