Name: Tom AC

College: Derwent

Year: 2

Subject: Politics and IR

Campaign in three words: Freedom, Justice, Honeys

What’s the most important part of your manifesto?

My manifesto isn’t too serious. The people who take the elections seriously, regardless of what I wrote wouldn’t have taken me seriously. I am running for the apathetic voters. so the fact that I don’t care should appeal to those that also don’t care.

How do you differ from the other candidates?

Because I am not an over ambitious student politician. I was not a college chair or anything in my JCRC, I am hope that you can become the president without having being part of your JCRC clique

What was your favourite thing the previous officer did and why?

Kallum Taylor listened. No problem was too small or too large. He cared, thats what I intend to do, listen and care.

What’s the most important thing about the role you are going for?

Like previously mentioned, listening and caring. But on the flip side, this does not mean that I will impose anything onto the majority due to a minority opinion.

How are you campaigning?

I will be campaigning via a helicopter which will be situated on 22 acres at all times. Due to the cost of fuel, and lack of licence it will remain on the ground. Well I say helicopter, it is nothing more than an app on my phone, which doesn’t even work. In fact 22 acres is cold and wet so maybe that plan will not come to fruition. I think maybe just posters that I have stolen from the Tories and the holy messiah himself, Obama.

What do you like the most about York?

York as a place or as a university, you did not make this very clear. As a university, I love the lake, the asbestos filled buildings and as a place I love the cold wet weather and the sexy yorkshire tones.

What’s the best slogan you can think of for your campaign?

Freedom, Justice, Honeys

What do you think about York Vision?

I used to think York Vision was a wonderful paper with fantastic editors and an ethos of inclusivity; unfortunately at the change of the guards it all changed. I believe it has become too big for its own boots, and power has gone to the heads of certain individuals in authority, to the extent it has become its own totalitarian state. I truly believe that the golden era has passed Vision, despite many talented and lovely writers, the ship of glory has sailed.

  1. “so the fact that I don’t care should appeal to those that also don’t care.”

“thats what I intend to do, listen and care.”

    hmm, contradiction or troll?

  2. In another pathetic bid to resuscitate what few tatters of his BNOC status remain to him, AC has gambled it all on a joke candidacy campaign which is sure to spell a fleeting fifteen minutes of fame post election before he throws in the towel and realises what a woeful human being he truly is. Unfunny, dull and cliche, this is just beyond tragic.

  3. Oh, fab. A YUSU Sabb candidate that habitually used the term “faggot” in everyday conversation.

    Banterous dipshit.
