University of York students have chosen to elect former Langwith Chair Sam Maguire as YUSU President 2014/15.
Ex-Langwith chair Maguire saw tough competition from opponents Andy Lake, Dan Whitmore, Daniel Nolan, Dylan Chambers, Fred Isaac, Jack Coy, Josie Field and Tom AC.
Maguire soared to victory with 1906 votes in the seventh round, beating Dan Whitmore’s 1390.
Maguire will be joined by a sabbatical team of YSTV Chair Chris Wall as Student Activities Officer, George Offer as Academic Officer, Jemima Busby as Welfare Officer and Community Officer and Cassandra Brown as York Sport President.
