A film set to shoot on campus and feature students as extras will star Bond girl, Olga Kurylenko.

The romantic drama film will also cast Jeremy Irons as a professor involved in a love affair with a younger woman working in the same field.

The production company are looking for 185 students to work as extras.

Students will be paid £40 for a full day’s work, which could potentially last up to 12 hours.

YUSU President Sam Maguire said: “Although Quantum of Solace was a pretty rubbish James Bond film it is really exciting to have such high profile talent acting in and working on a film here at York.

“It is really cool for students to be able to be involved in the project and will hopefully inspire our many actors and budding film-makers.”

A University spokesperson said: “We are in discussion with the makers of the film ‘The Correspondence’, who wish to shoot some scenes on the University of York campus on 7-9 May.

“The film maker will have a base on campus for the duration of filming, though precisely which locations would be used is still under discussion.”

“The film offers an excellent opportunity for paid work experience for TFTV students.”

Student extras are required on Thursday 7th May and Saturday 9th May.

Olga Kury-lenko starred in the 22nd Bond film, Quantum of Solace, opposite Daniel Craig.

The French actress first gained widespread recognition through her part in video-game adaptation Hitman.

Jeremy Irons is well known for his part in The Borgias and for being the voice of Scar in The Lion King.

He is also one of the few actors to have ever won the ‘Triple Crown of Acting’.
