Blind Date

It’s been a crazy week for us at Blind Date this issue; our very own Cilla Black, Milo Boyd, wanted us to set him up with a beautiful woman. So we had to take the reins and thrust him into the waiting embrace of petite PantSoc member Emy Martyn. Was it an “Oh yes they did!” or an “Oh no they didn’t!” for our brooding Music editor and the blonde extrovert? Read on to find out!

Milo on Emy

What’s the first thing you noticed about them?

She is very attractive. She shook my hand instead of hugging me.

What did you talk about?

Religion, God, politics, movies, Kent (we are from the same place), her ex boyfriend.

Any awkward moments?

When the waiter came and talked to us for five minutes. I also had a really warm face for the entire time.

What were they wearing?

A jumper dress with leaf patterns, tights, nice green heeled shoes, red scarf, black coat.

What did you eat?

An avocado salad. I did not enjoy it.

Best thing?

Her hair.

Did you go on anywhere?

Up Clifford’s Tower to watch the fireworks, then to Trembling Madness, then to my house to drink beer. We dressed up, her as a US Navy person and me as a Mexican chav.

If you met in Willow, would you go home together?

I wouldn’t be able to approach someone like her in Willow. If you’re asking whether I’d sleep with her, the answer is yes.

Did you end on a hug, a kiss or more?

A hug. I think there was a time when I could have kissed her, but it passed.

Did you exchange numbers?

No, but she added me on Facebook.

Marks out of 10?

Nando’s gets a 2/10 (I’m a vegetarian!) but she gets 10/10 for her general perfection.

Emy on Milo

What’s the first thing you noticed about them?

I noticed his hair and that he was wearing a jacket and shirt.

What did you talk about?

We talked about where we came from, what we were studying, what we wanted to be, travelling, and then moved on to the conversations you shouldn’t talk about on a date: religion, politics and exes.

Any awkward moments?

There were a couple at the beginning, but conversation quickly picked up.

What were they wearing?

Black jacket, dark shirt, dark jeans, dark purple brogues.

What did you eat?

I ate the Mango and Lime chicken burger with the black bean side salad, and it was nice, not great.

Best thing?

The best thing was discovering we came from the same area in Kent, and having a cup of tea on his roof

Did you go on anywhere?

Yes, we went to Clifford’s Tower to catch some fireworks, then to House of Trembling Madness for a strawberry beer, then a couple of beers at his house with his housemates (who I knew!)

If you met in Willow, would you go home together?

I don’t think so.

Did you end on a hug, a kiss or more?

A hug!

Did you exchange numbers?

No, but we chat on Facebook!

Marks out of 10?

8/10

  1. Lovely comments from both. He is such a gentleman for giving her 10/10. I’d marry him :)
