21.58

Well we’re at the end and going to leave you with one last question. Craig would like Nick Clegg on a desert island as he is ‘undoubtedly the sexiest’, Chris has gone for Farage, Joe has gone for Cameron – it would be a service for the country! Felix has made the rather controversial choice of Nick Griffin!

21.56

National Insurance and Gordon’s ‘job tax’ now. Businessmen are only supporting the Tories out of slef interest apparently. Accusations of the Tories wanting to ‘slash and burn’ public services are flying around!

21.54

Felix seems to be perfecting soundbites already. Gordon Brown would like to ‘push the banker abshing taxes before the election, and reveal those that will hit normal families after the election’.

21.53

Chris Woods seems to have taken over the role of the chair! He’s challenged Craig to name his own personal favoured coalition partner. It’s the Tories apparently if you were interested.

21.51

Craig spens a ‘lot of time with Lib Dems while drunk apparently’!

21.51

Don’t vote tactically according to Joe, always vote Labour!

21.50

Craig says the Lib Dems have made their position on their favoured coalition partner very clear. Really?? There will no back room deals apparently.

21.49

Felix has just been a little bit stumped by a question over who he voted for party leader. He voted for David Davis apparently, but loves Dave apparently.

21.47

Students are apathetic because we’re simply too content and we’re happy with the situation as it is according to Chris Woods.

21.46

Joe hopes that student turnout has increased, but doesn’t seem to have anything to say as to how Labour have helped encourage this.

21.44

We’ve moved on to student turnout now.

21.43

Craig Martin thinks that teh other partes are ‘spreading fear’ about electoral reform, coalitions, and the prospects of a hung parliament.

21.40

Electoral reform would create a ‘fractured electoral system’ according to Felix. Craig Martin doesn’t seem too impressed by his suggestion that it will make the system less democratic!

21.39

Good question here from the audience: Labour have had 13 years to bring about electoral reform and have failed. Why should we believe them now?

21.38

No surpise to hear that Craig Martin is a strong proponent of electoral reform.

21.37

We’re onto electoral reform now. Joe Riches is advocating the Alternative Vote but isn’t so keen on other systems of PR.

21.36

We’re onto electoral reform now. Joe Riches is advocating the Alternative Vote but isn’t so keen on other systems of PR.

21.35

Just had a question as to why there are two Tories on the panel? There aren’t is the short answer!

21.33

The debate seems to be turning into a bit of an attack on the Tories. We’ve just had accusations of planted questions by Felix.

21.32

We keeping being told that politics is now full of consensus but that doesn’t seem the case here tonight!

21.31

Joe Riches is already trying to persuade the audience to vote for Labour. Madeline Kirk, the Lib Dem candidate in York Outer, who made recent comments on racism has shown her true character apparently.

21.30

Craig’s strong geordie accent is certainly quite apparent here tonight!

21.29

It’s getting quite debated her in V/045! Joe and Felix are attacking each other quite furiously over the Tory’s EU partners.

21.27

Criticisms of the Tories by the ‘labour press’ are simply ‘smears’ according to Felix Bungay.

21.26

Felix Bungay seems to think that a flat tax would be a good idea. Not so sure how well that will go down with the electorate!

21.23

Craig Martin seems to believe that it would be a good thing if there was a much greater chance of the BNP getting elected. Interesting view.

21.20

21.19

Joe Riches seems to be trying to be copying the Nick Clegg tool of asking the questioner their name!

21.18

Felix Bungay and Craig Martin seem to agree that this is a reflection of Gordon Brown’s reputation as a ‘nokia throwing’ bully!

21.17

Chris Woods is trying to make a moral justification for being bigotted. Is that possible?!

21.16

At least Chris Woods is here to add a bit of humour and passion to the debate tonight. Otherwise, the panelists are understandably toeing the party line.

21.14

It’s a question of character apparently according to Felix Bungay. He’s saying one thing to people’s faces and another behind their back. He’s ‘incredibly two faced’.

21.12

Joe Riches seems to be repeating the party line- Mrs Duffy’s not a bigot and Brown felt terrible about the incident apparently.

21.11

We’ve moved onto Bigotgate now…

21.11

Chris Woods believes that the debates might be about personalities, but he thinks that character of the candidate is an important aspect when making your vote.

21.09

Joe Riches believes that the debates are too concerned on personality.

21.08

Craig Martin thinks the TV debates haven’t affected policy but have got people interested in the campaign.

21.07

You can send your own questions into URY to challenge the panel.

21.05

Laura Cress is making the introductions now…

21.04

A don’t know anon. Whilst all people have views that correspond more strongly to one party or another, and it can be difficult to speak truly impartiall, I’m not actually currently a paid up member of any political party, nor have I been actively involved in any election campaigns for a number of years.
